Materials · Polyester PET and recycled PET

Consistent colour, washable pile, design freedom.

Polyester PET gives a dense, washable, quick-drying pile with a broad colour palette and the flexibility to knit plains and multi-colour patterns. Where suitable we use dope-dyed PET: colour is introduced during fibre manufacture rather than by wet dyeing, for consistency across production runs.

Properties

What PET brings to a pile construction.

Colour

Dope-dyed at source

Colour runs through the entire fibre, giving consistent, colourfast material from run to run and reducing water use compared with conventional wet dyeing.

Care

Washable and quick-drying

Constructions built for repeated laundering in clinical, kennel and home environments; care regime agreed by construction.

Design

Plains and patterns

Broad PET palette; plain and multi-colour knitted designs, with complexity matched to weight and machine performance.

Backing

Options, not defaults

Traditional green, ribbed non-slip water-based latex and acrylic backings; fire-retardant and antimicrobial constructions are optional and specified where the application needs them.

Recycled PET

Up to 95 percent recycled content, in selected constructions.

Jackson Textiles was the first manufacturer to use recycled PET fibres in veterinary and pet bedding. Today selected constructions contain up to 95 percent recycled content, an approach guided by performance, longevity and responsible resource use.

The claim applies to specific constructions, not to every product. The recycled content of a given fabric is stated in its quotation and technical schedule.

Blends

Wool and PET together.

Wool and polyester blends let comfort, care and price positioning be tuned for a product: the handle and moisture interaction of wool with the washability and colour range of PET. Blend ratio, pile and backing are selected through sampling against the finished product.
